So I thought I'd take this time to share with you some places, photos, etc. that haven't made the blog lately and have just been sitting on my computer waiting to be unveiled to the world. Bellagio, Summer 2006:
I spent quite a lot of time this year sitting in this spot in London. Does anyone know where I'm shooting this photo from?
Little moments in Lugano... carabinieri hangin' out in front of the Christmas Tree...
watched by cherubs...
This was the strangest spectacle for La Befana (Epiphany). I can't explain the guy in blackface.
All the excitement wears Mufasa out!

RLS:
'Epiphany', in the West, is celebrated on 6 Jan (twelve days after Christmas - don't believe the misleading hype the 'Twelve Days of Christmas' end on 25 Dec). It celebrates the arrival of the 'wise men' (Greek, magi) from the East (Matt 2:1 ff.). Since they are 'from the East', it is assumed they were of Persian origin - some might apply 'blackface' to demonstrate this origin.
Though not the term used in Matthew, 'Epiphany' (from the Greek, epiphaneia) means 'appearance.' The traditional signfigance is the revelation of the Messiah to/by the Gentiles.
YOU'RE the one who asked...
Warmest regards,

PS. At least your cereal could be salvaged - unlike pouring salt (not sugar) into one's coffee...
Ray -- Is that you?! I know what epiphany actually is and even what the word means, silly! But BLACK FACE?! Through the middle of town?! It was weird.
