a few photos from the x-mas party

This was a while back, but I just got my hands on Jeff's (the tall one with glasses) photos from the College's x-mas party. These are one gang I hang out with. I don't work very closely with any of these folks; none of them are faculty members... we just hang out sometimes. Last night we had a big snowball fight in downtown Lugano.

One especially nice thing about looking at these photos:
I feel like I look really different than a couple of years ago, and in a very good way. I think maybe I am being truer to myself, coming into my own, and it shows! I feel comfortable in my own skin, as Joe said to me not terribly long ago. (Addendum: Another thing I notice is that I need to get my teeth fixed. I knocked the two front ones out when I was eleven, had them replaced when I was 21 and it is time again. They don't look good in photos and I am just self-conscious enough about it that I smile with my mouth closed now. I didn't even know I did this 'til recently. Also the bottom ones have become all crooked even though I had braces. Maybe I will spend the money I make from summer school on a good cosmetic dentist. Do you have anything like that... things you see in pictures that you didn't even know you'd been avoiding?)

Plus that, everyone should have the equivalent of this little black dress. When I put it on, I feel like a million bucks and the most beautiful woman anywhere, ever. I've only worn it a couple of times here and I need more places to go in it. Put that on the to-do list. Also, I need a winter-y version. This is a very summer-y little thing. Wearing it to the holiday party was a stretch.

Anyway, make sure you have something you feel fabulous in, will you? Then don't hesitate to ask someone to take you out so you can wear it.
